The Predeal resort is located in the center of Romania on the Prahova Valley, between the Prahova and Timiș rivers, at the foot of the Bucegi mountains to the northeast and the Baiului mountains to the northwest. The town of Predeal is located at the highest urban altitude in Romania, between 1030m–1110m, at 45°30′ north latitude and 25°26′ east latitude.

The mountains that border the Predeal resort are M-ții Piatra Mare (1843m) to the North, M-ții Bucegi (2508m at Vârful Omu) to the South-West and M-ții Postăvarul (1799m) to the North-West.

The component towns that make up the town of Predeal are: Predeal, Pârâul Rece, Timișul de Jos, Timișul de Sus. The total area is 58.4 km, of which 78.047 m is the inhabited area, although this has expanded more and more in recent years.

The Predeal is located at approximately:

• 140 km away from Henry Coandă airport in Bucharest

• 25 km from the municipality of Brașov

• 25 km from the Peleș castle in Sinaia

• 30 km from Bran Castle

The mountain climate in the Prahova Valley area, with its cool summers and cold winters, makes the Predeal resort of real tourist interest in all seasons. The town of Predeal offers delightful views, being recommended both for recreation and recovery from convalescence thanks to its high humidity and unpolluted air, but also for practicing winter sports such as skiing, snowboarding or sledding.

The resort has over 5,000 places to stay throughout the year, which are sufficient and distributed in hotels, villas, guesthouses, cabins, campsites, but also accommodation in houses, with authorized individuals.

The resort’s attractions are the eight alpine ski slopes with varying degrees of difficulty, the cross-country ski slope on Valea Râșnoavei, the mountain trails marked for tourism, the ATV trails created in recent years, the chair lift and ski lifts on Clăbucet, as well as the great diversity of places specialized in Romanian and international culinary art.

With the exception of the winter season in Predeal, the mountains around the city offer the possibility of making unforgettable hikes and admiring the landscapes, which were, are and will be the attractions of tourists from all over the world arriving in this beautiful resort.
